Scarlett Johansson has officially filed from divorce from husband Romain Dauriac. The second time wasn’t a charm for the star when it comes to marriage.
Guys everywhere, rejoice! The bombshell superstar is going to be a single woman again. On March 7th, the actress filed divorce papers in a New York City court citing that her marriage to Romain Dauriac is “irretrievably broken.”
News of the couple’s separation first broke at the end of January, while sources said that the pair had actually split up earlier in the summer of 2016. Now the filing has made the separation official, and the divorce could get ugly over custody of the couple’s three-year-old daughter Rose Dorothy. Johansson is asking for primary custody while Romain wants joint custody and plans to move back to his native France.
Drama filled custody battle:
Harold Mayerson, Romain’s lawyer stated that his client would like to move to France with his daughter and Ms. Johansson does a lot of traveling. He continuing saying that as a result of the custody dispute, the case could get filled with drama, adding “It will be an interesting process.”
The couple had split their time between Paris and New York, however, Manhattan was the primary residence for the family. Scarlett, who is the highest grossing female actress of all time, with her films raking in a whopping $3.6 billion, is set to start a worldwide huge press tour for her highly anticipated film Ghost in the Shell which comes out on March 31st, meaning she will be on the road a lot in the coming weeks.
Scarlett and Romain started dating in November 2012 and got engaged in September 2013. A year after the engagement, they welcomed daughter Rose and got married on October 1st, 2014.
This was Scarlett’s second marriage, she was previously married to Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds, 40 who got divorced in 2010. Reynolds is currently married to Blake Lively, 29, with whom he has two young daughters.
