A bodyguard to the stars was knocked down in a hit-and-run and posted a picture of his bloodied face on Facebook.
Hit and run:
On Friday, Steve Meredith said he was and was hit by a ‘gold convertible Renault Megane’ after getting out of his car Gloucestershire, on the A38 near Tewkesbury.
The driver then allegedly sped off without stopping.
Meredith, 34, posted pictures showing his head injury and blood streaming down his face in an effort to track down the culprit.
During his career as a bodyguard, Meredith protected superstars like Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, Jennifer Aniston and George Clooney.
A post in hopes of finding the culprit:
He wrote in a Facebook post: ‘So I’ve been involved in a hit and run. Stopped to see if the guy was okay as he was flashing me and beeping his horn after coming up behind me.’ Meredith thought that the driver just wanted to overtake him, so he pulled over and got out of his car.
Meredith said ‘[I] gave him the thumbs up to see if he was okay and he accelerates and drives at me, smashed my head on the windscreen. Thankfully there are no broken bones, only my body that is battered, bruised and a massive headache.’
The bodyguard has a heart condition and had a pacemaker fitted when he was just nine years old. He thanked those who shared his post and hopes the pictures will lead to police finding the person responsible.
According to Gloucestershire Police, they are investigating a hit and run involving a gold convertible. ’It appears to be a non-stop road traffic collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian. It followed an earlier incident on the A38 and we are interested in tracing a car fitting that description,’ a spokesman said.
