Cup in 2012 have been made public by a German newspaper.
Bild, a German news platform, revealed that it has unveiled a 2014 report carried out by Michael Garcia, the independent investigator on matters relating to ethics was suppressed by the football body.
According to Bild, the report shows that 2 million dollars were paid to a 10-year daughter of an official of FIFA. And this was one of the reasons why Garcia decided to quit in 2014 after the report was swept under the carpet.
That 42-page report showed that Qatar was innocent of any corrupt allegation and the newspaper has revealed that the full report will be published on Tuesday.
The newspaper states that:
· Three members of the executive committee of Fifa were flown in a private jet that belongs to the football body of Qatar just before voting for both the 2018 and 2022 world cup commenced.
· A football academy in Qatar, Aspire, was involved in manipulating the voting process to favour Qatar by influencing Fifa members.
A Report that is not validated
However, the journalist Peter Rossberg who got the report stated in a post on Facebook that the report does not in any way validate the claim that Qatar bribed their way to the World Cup in 2022.
Garcia stated in his report after he resigned that the report that was published by Fifa was made up of incomplete pieces.
Prosecutors from France have also carried out investigation towards the bidding process in 2018 and 2022 and also questioned e Fifa president Sepp Blatter who was named a person of interest in the case.
