Today is the 107th birthday of the world-renowned physicists whose study helped in establishing the theory of the evolution of stars.
Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar as a child released his first academic paper and brought about the theory of the star just before he reached age 20. At 34 years of age, he became a member of the Royal Society of London, and not long after was made a physics service professor.
The honors accorded the physicist who is of Indian-American descent is massive, of the recognitions include the National Medal of Science, the Royal Astronomical Society’s gold medal. Despite the fact that his postulations were initially taken with some measure of apprehension in the 1930s, the theories earned him the Nobel Prize much later.
Design made to celebrate him
The Doodle as designed by Google represents the most vital of the contributions made by the physicists about our comprehension of stars and the way they came to be. He created a measure known as The Chandrasekhar Limit that throws more light on the fact that a star is over 1.2 times bigger than the sun.
Today honor and due recognition is bestowed on him again being a forerunner in the study of the stars and our Universe.
